Preparing for 2024
New year, new regulations, same old story. Following are some tasks employers are advised to undertake as the new year begins, courtesy of Cooley:
Review and revise your employee handbooks and policies – Remember that the current NLRB is generally not the friend of employers, so any work rules should be examined to ensure they do not infringe on employee rights.
Review your restrictive covenants –Check the article on non-competes in “Compliance Corner”; that ban gradually spreading.
Review your arbitration agreements (if any) – One tool for employers is to ensure that any arbitration agreement is compliant with the Federal Arbitration Act (FAA), which can preempt state laws when both are in play.
