H-1B Eligibility Rules Changing

Effective January 17th, the new revision of the rules for hiring H-1B employees will become effective. DHS says its latest rule is intended to “improve” efficiency and flexibility in the program. Therefore, both caution and close inspection of the rule are advised. The most significant change is the requirement that, while a range of degrees may be acceptable for a given position, employers are responsible for ensuring that the degrees considered are legitimately related to the position requirements. Also, a new form I-129 is to be implemented as part of this process.
