EEOC Seeking to Eliminate Bias in AI-Assisted Hiring 

We have reported previously on localized efforts to ensure restrictions on “automated employment decision tools.”

Now the EEOC is getting involved as well.

One example cited for targeting is the use of ‘proxies” instead of banned characteristics, such as criminal records, credit histories, or even ZIP codes, which could eliminate candidates without further examination.

This is a nascent field, one that warrants continued attention.
