She was sued for violating the NDA, which was signed after a previous lawsuit she had filed against the department was settled. The police department lost this suit because NJ laws had been changed in 2019 to ban “provisions in employment contracts that waive rights or remedies” and “agreements that conceal details relating to discrimination claims.”
