Maryland Active Again

According to ADP “Spark,” “Maryland has enacted legislation that modifies the required information that employers must provide on employee’s wage statements and creates a new hire notice mandate.” Unlike California, however, Maryland is giving employers until October 1 to comply. This regulation requires more detailed wage statements for employees in each pay period. (Employers using payroll services are probably already in compliance.) The law also requires that upon hire, employers provide new employees with the MD equivalent of the DC “Notice of Hire,” listing pay, paydays and leave benefits.
