Interesting & Potentially Useful ADP Research into Employee Attitudes

ADP surveyed some 35,000 employees globally to learn their attitudes and expectations. Following are the results in brief from 2023: 

  • Average salary increase expectation = 7%; Average give was 4%. 

  • 74% of workers expect increases, but the expected level is more in line with the 4% above. 

  • Age group least likely to make job enjoyment a priority is the 18-24-year-old group. Their focus is on flexibility of hours and good pay. 

  • 60% of workers believe they have the skills needed to advance within 3 years. AI is a wild card. 

  • Employers with 100-249 employees ranked highest in their investment in employee learning. Employers both larger and smaller ranked lower than those. 

  • 15% of employees reported experiencing daily stress. US and North American workers reported higher levels than the rest of the world.
