Federal Contractors Salary Posting Requirements

The Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council (FAR) has published a proposed rule that would bar federal contractors (and subcontractors) from considering an applicant’s salary history and would require the posting of pay ranges for “certain” job postings. A number of state and local jurisdictions have already enacted such requirements, and more are on the way, so this should not be much of a surprise. The effective date will be determined after the required lengthy review process.
