States Considering Changes to Their Family and Medical Leave Laws

It has been noted that the US is one of the few industrialized nations that does not have a required paid family leave program. FMLA covers part of that for certain purposes, and some states already have laws that provide for that as well. The Biden administration is attempting to propose such a program, but given the projected cost ($325 billion), its prospects in this economy are not good. Offering such a program may be an added inducement for recruiting.
